About Ashton
My love for the art of styling hair has been a lifelong affair, dating back to my early years. It all started at 12 years old with my first braid and learning how to create beautiful curls, then posting photos of my work on an Instagram account I created.
I quickly learned how effective networking was for the growth of my future career. At 15 years old, people started to take interest in my work and I booked my first wedding, and then it turned into homecoming and prom. Little did I know that this initial step would set the stage for a fulfilling career.
At 18 years old I completed my cosmetology program from Paul Mitchell in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Over the last 5 years I have progressed through a multitude of various educational classes, certifications and experience working in the bridal industry.

During spring of 2023 I felt that it was time to make a change in location. I needed chance to embrace my talents and everything I am so passionate about in the industry. I remember picking up the phone and calling Blackbird Salon and being invited in for an interview. During my conversation with Jen, I immediately knew she was different than other salon owners. She was passionate about not only her own business but the team, and the clients that support the business.
I have learned more about the business than I expected in the last year, and am so proud to have recently accepted the role as the Blackbird Salon Social media mentor.
The camaraderie among the stylists at Blackbird is truly remarkable, characterized by a warm welcome and an abundance of talent. What sets Blackbird apart is its unwavering commitment to education, fostering an atmosphere where growth and learning are constant companions. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continually refine my skills in this nurturing environment.
This career path has completely filled my cup and has brought me so much joy.
It’s been a dream come true. My specialties include, Blonding, Lived in color, Hand-tied Extensions, and Wedding hair. I’ve enjoyed meeting so many of the wonderful clients that put their trust in my hands, and I look forward to building long lasting relationships with you!
